Remuneration: R468,459.00 per annum
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting and implementing CGE’s research and policy mandate. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research, including fieldwork and research data collection
- Conceptualising research projects and related research activities
- Participating in the implementation of the Research Department’s Annual Plan of Action
- Administering and supporting research department projects
- Participating in departmental workshops, seminars, and presentations of research findings
- Contributing to public debates and policy processes on gender-related issues
- Liaising with internal and external CGE stakeholders
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Deputy Director
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Social Sciences or a related behavioural science qualification
- Have at least three (3) years’ demonstrable research experience using quantitative or mixed-methods research on gender-related issues
- Demonstrable professional research report writing experience with a publications record
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be willing and able to travel extensively within South Africa for research fieldwork
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Key Competencies Required
- Sound knowledge of gender issues and familiarity with the CGE mandate
- Strong research, data gathering, and analytical skills
- Project management and organisational skills
- Computer literacy and experience with quantitative or mixed-methods research methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Research report writing and presentation skills
- Typing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to speak at least one African language (added advantage)
