Position Overview
Position: Member of the CGE Audit & Risk Committee

Remuneration: According to tariffs approved by National Treasury
Contract Type: 3-Year Performance-Based Contract
Key Functions and Responsibilities
Appointed committee members will provide independent oversight and guidance to the CGE on the following areas:
- Internal audit processes
- Internal financial controls and accounting policies
- Risk management frameworks and systems
- Adequacy, reliability, and accuracy of financial reporting
- Performance management and quarterly/annual performance reviews
- Compliance with legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Corporate governance and effective governance practices
- Oversight of audit outcomes and risk mitigation strategies
Term of Office
The term of office for successful candidates is three (3) years, after which the Commission may review the incumbency based on performance and organisational needs.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for appointment, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Master of Laws (LLM) qualification
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a legal practitioner
- At least 6 years’ experience serving on an Audit and/or Risk Committee
- Sound understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Knowledge of Treasury Regulations and legislation governing public entities
- Commitment to serving the public interest responsibly
- An understanding of gender equality will be an added advantage
