Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in medical records management and hospital admissions.
  • Inherent Job Requirements:
    • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
    • Willingness to relieve other personnel when necessary.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding administrative tasks.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of administrative and registry duties, including:

  • Managing patient folders: daily filing, merging duplicate folders, and tracking records.
  • Handling medical record requests from various hospital departments.
  • Archiving inactive patient folders and disposing of records in compliance with legislation.
  • Registering patients and assessing them according to Hospital Memorandum 18 and the UPFS manual.
  • Maintaining and updating the patient appointment system for efficient service delivery.
