Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and Capturing Incoming Calls: Manage emergency calls via the GEMS data system, record critical information, and prioritise based on urgency.
  • Managing Stress and Anxiety: Communicate effectively and compassionately with distressed callers to reassure and guide them.
  • Dispatching Emergency Resources: Assess each case and dispatch appropriate emergency services via radio. Monitor progress in real time.
  • Control Room Management: Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and operational standards in the control room at all times.

What You Need to Qualify

  • Education: A Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in an emergency or medical call-centre is essential.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with GEMC/CAD (Computer Aided Dispatching) is a strong advantage.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work shifts and overtime based on a roster system.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, emotional resilience, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and strong decision-making skills.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual Salary: R 228 321 – R 268 950
