Geita Gold Mining Ltd operates a world-class gold mine located in the Geita Region of Northwestern Tanzania, within the Lake Victoria Goldfields. The mine is approximately 120 km from Mwanza City and about 20 km southeast of Lake Victoria.

Purpose of the Role

The role focuses on carrying out preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and breakdown repairs on mining equipment. The successful candidate will ensure maximum equipment availability by prioritizing planned maintenance, conducting thorough inspections, and accurately reporting defects for effective maintenance planning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate of Secondary School Education.
• VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One / Level Three in Auto Electrical Engineering.
• Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Auto Electrical or Electrical Engineering.
• A Degree in Auto Electrical or Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Valid Tanzanian Driving License.

Required Experience

• At least 2–5 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician working on heavy mining equipment.
• Strong competence in fault finding and use of electronic diagnostic tools.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines without compromising safety or quality.
• Sound knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices.
• Problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both Swahili and English.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver results.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure mining equipment is reliable and available for production operations.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Carry out repairs strictly in accordance with OEM standards.
• Prepare daily work reports and conduct proper shift handovers.
• Support cost control by avoiding trial-and-error fault diagnosis.
• Conduct CCV inspections with supervisors to maintain high safety standards.
• Reduce emergency maintenance by prioritizing planned maintenance tasks.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship in all assigned duties.
