Health Volunteer – Medical Attendant (10 Posts)

Job Purpose

The Medical Attendant (Health Volunteer) will assist clinicians and nurses in different allocated clinical areas, including:

  • Outpatient Department (OPD)
  • Inpatient Department (IPD)
  • Operating Theatre Department (OTD)

The role focuses on ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting healthcare professionals to deliver efficient services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Attendant, your duties will include:

  • Ensuring working tools and equipment are available and in good condition
  • Directing patients and relatives to appropriate service points
  • Preparing patients before consultation or medical procedures
  • Assisting in controlling patient flow within clinical areas
  • Communicating effectively with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff
  • Transporting patients safely between units
  • Moving equipment and medical supplies as needed
  • Verifying and transporting laboratory specimens
  • Maintaining a clean, calm, and comfortable environment
  • Conducting scheduled weekly and monthly cleaning activities

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Form IV Certificate
  • One-year basic nursing training from a government-recognized institution
  • Minimum of one (1) year working experience
  • Computer literacy
