Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a leading healthcare social enterprise in Tanzania dedicated to providing accessible and specialized health services, particularly to vulnerable communities. The organization works extensively in disability prevention, rehabilitation services, and maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC).

CCBRT’s Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and across the Eastern Zone of Tanzania. Through its community development programmes, CCBRT continues to strengthen inclusive healthcare systems and promote quality medical services.

To strengthen its Nursing Department, CCBRT is currently inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following position:

Health Volunteer – Assistant Nursing Officer (23 Posts)

Job Purpose

The Assistant Nursing Officer (Health Volunteer) will provide professional clinical nursing care within allocated departments, including:

  • Outpatient Department (OPD)
  • Inpatient Department (IPD)
  • Operating Theatre Department (OTD)

The role requires adherence to quality standards, patient safety regulations, and professional nursing ethics at all times.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Nursing Officer, your duties will include:

  • Providing nursing care in accordance with established standards and safety regulations
  • Maintaining patient dignity, confidentiality, and professional conduct
  • Ensuring proper preparation of patients before consultation or surgical procedures
  • Assisting doctors during examinations and surgeries
  • Translating medical information between Kiswahili and English where necessary
  • Communicating sensitive medical information to patients appropriately
  • Counselling patients where required
  • Performing clinical procedures within your scope of practice
  • Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
  • Controlling and managing patient flow within clinical areas

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Must be registered with a valid license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC)

Candidates with prior hospital experience, especially in maternity or surgical units, will have an added advantage.
